Michael’s core strengths are his technical expertise and ability to identify key issues early on in a project. He also has high level inter personal skills and relates to people at all levels within the project, to achieve a team approach.
Michael has extensive project experience with more than 20 years as a building surveyor including a senior position at Melbourne Council and as a private building surveyor. Michael completed the ‘Performance based Building and Fire Codes’ course at Victoria University in 1997, which enables acceptance of alternative solutions under the Building Code of Australia without referral to a third party. Michael has provided consultancy to the Building Appeals Board for a number of years, and has represented the Australian Institute of Building Surveyor’s on the Building Regulations Advisory Committee, and Disability Access Working Party.
Recently Michael was a member of the Project Control Group (PCG) for the Department of Human Services (DHS) review of the Capital Development Guidelines (CDG) 7 Series for fire safety standards in DHS owned or operated properties across Victoria.
